Danmarks Nationalbank (English: National Bank of Denmark) is the central bank of the Kingdom of Denmark. It is a non-eurozone member of the European System of Central Banks (ESCB). Since its establishment in 1818, the objective of the Nationalbank as an independent and credible institution is to issue the Danish currency, the krone, and ensure its stability. The Board of Governors holds full responsibility for the monetary policy.

As the central bank of Denmark, Danmarks Nationalbank is responsible for conducting monetary policy in Denmark. Denmark maintains a fixed-exchange-rate policy vis-à-vis the euro area and participates in the European Exchange Rate Mechanism, ERM 2, at a central rate of 746.038 kroner per 100 euro with a fluctuation band of +/- 2.25 per cent. The fixed-exchange-rate policy provides a framework for low and stable inflation in Denmark. Danmarks Nationalbank conducts monetary policy by setting the monetary-policy interest rates.
